TECHNOLOGY DATA ANALYST

Qualified applicants are being sought for a technology data specialist in Louisa County Public Schools. Louisa County Public Schools serves approximately 4900 students. Louisa County is located 45 miles northwest of Richmond, 35 miles east of Charlottesville and 40 miles west of Fredericksburg.

GENERAL WORK DEFINITION: Performs a variety of professional and administrative functions related to the development, implementation and support of student and staff data software and office systems. Ensures data and user account availability, integrity and security, eliminates data redundancy, and leverages database tools to improve database performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serves as support for all Student Data Systems including operations and underlying technologies.
• Supports data and related applications to support Information Systems.
• Assists in scheduling and coordinating the transfer of data into other systems for the purpose of system interfaces and ensuring the district’s compliance with various reporting requirements.
• Works in conjunction with the Technology and Instructional teams to review and develop the reporting strategies and data relationships including the Student Information Systems (SIS). Query and analyze data to assist in making district decisions.
• Creates, reports, customizes and maintains the Student Information System.
• Supports teachers, administrators and support staff by providing assistance with data analysis, data structures and related skills development.
• Helps to develop, document and share division processes surrounding student data.
• Performs various other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:                                  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of database design and management required.
• Experience in an educational institution and/or experience with PowerSchool preferred.
• Possess qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with school personnel.

LENGTH OF SERVICE:                            12 month work agreement

SALARY RANGE:                                    Commensurate with experience

REPORTS TO:                                          Director of Secondary Education
