Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Executive Support Specialist to provide crucial support to the Superintendent of our school division. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the division’s leadership team and requires highly specialized and confidential administrative services. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: General expectations are listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 

  • Assist the Superintendent in daily administrative operations, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and preparing reports.
  • Maintain the Superintendent’s calendar, scheduling, appointments, meetings, and events efficiently.
  • Assist the Superintendent’s communication efforts, including drafting announcements, presentations, and memos on behalf of the Superintendent. 
  • Provide general administrative support, such as answering phones, handling incoming mail, managing office tasks, and handling inquiries.
  • Assist the Superintendent in the preparation of and delivery of the agenda and/or meeting data to the Louisa County School Board.
  • Attends meetings regarding legal or other confidential matters as directed by the Superintendent.
  • Serves as confidential assistant to the Superintendent.
  • Assist the LCPS Public Relations department in generating engaging and informative news articles highlighting the division’s achievements and events as needed.
  • Capture photographs during school events, activities, and special occasions as needed.

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Previous experience in an administrative role or supporting executive-level staff preferred.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting articles, and other communications.
  • Must be a team player that is willing to collaborate with colleagues and support the school division as a whole.
  • Comfortable in using Google Suite, and Gmail.
  • Proficient in general photography.
  • Though not required, a basic knowledge of video editing software (such as iMovie/Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
