SUMMARY To assist the principal by performing responsible clerical and technical work involving the preparation and maintenance of fiscal or related documents for the school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a complete bookkeeping system for the school
- Conducts routine bookkeeping tasks such as receiving, keeping receipts, depositing funds, reconciling checkbook and bank statements and accounting for all funds in accordance with school board policy, Virginia law, and federal law
- Provides routine secretarial support for the principal and other staff members
- Creates routine and other financial reports as required
- Prepares purchase orders and other documents for the procurement of materials and supplies
- Orders and dispenses school supplies
General accounting/bookkeeping and office computer skills with commonly used software programs required.
